I got an interesting call the other day. But I was on a tight deadline and couldn't talk for very long.
On the other end of the conversation was Mike Knaack, a likeable PR guy for TaigMarks, a small company based in Indiana that reps some well-known RV brands.
Our conversation was brief, and we agreed to talk later, but I assured him I’d read anything he wanted to email me now. Several days later, he sent me another email and I learned about Motorsports Advantage.
If you didn’t know it already, Motorsports Advantage is a company that has taken the AAA business plan a step further by introducing a “concierge” service for RV’ers.
This members-only service is dedicated to assisting motorsports aficionados—the folks who tend to have a closet full of weathered T-shirts emblazoned with some sort of automotive effigy; be it of the late-great Dale Earnhardt or my all time fav…the “Kiss Me, I Go Full Throttle” decree plastered in Helvetica BOLD on the front.
Well, the concept of Motorsports Advantage seems to be a good one for those of us who live for the next road race or round-dee-round. I have a closet full of these geeky T-shirts too, mostly overpriced souvenirs from motorsports events that I’ve covered for various magazines. I also have about 20 years’ worth of other motorsports paraphernalia boxed up in my garage somewhere. I’m hoping that one day they become collector’s items, at least before the moths get to them.
I’ve probably been to at least 500 motorsports in my career and remember some of the logistical hassles I had at the more popular ones. Like the time, my parking pass got me access only to a lot a quarter of a mile away from the track.
So I gleaned about all I could from news release Mike sent about Motorsports Advantage. Basically it was for guys like me, who don’t have time to make proper arrangements, or maybe they have trouble finding tickets or getting pit passes for example.
Motorsports Advantage is a concierge service that makes it easy for enthusiasts to attend an event without the hassle...like knowing where to find good barbeque catering business or even how-to arrange for a rental RV on site.
The service uses an extensive proprietary database, accessed 24/7 through a toll-free number, and geared toward freeing motorsports enthusiasts of any concern except enjoying the races.
There’s a yearly modest service and application fee, but it appears that the benefits of this concierge service outweigh the small cost of joining.
For instance, if you plan to have a family reunion, let’s say, at Talladega Superspeedway and you wanted to have an RV so that everyone could have some time together, instead of being hustled into stadium seating, Motorsports Advantage will find a RV rental facility for you.
Oh, and if all that's not enough, Motorsports Advantage can even help with you with any roadside assistance you might need on your way to the races!
